From the Town Clerk Rebecca Post

We are working on changes and updates to move the Town of Day forward. I have been attending trainings that have provided me with ideas and resources that the Board and I can implement and utilize to improve current practices. I have been updating current forms/permits as well as creating new forms as I find they are needed. We have begun utilizing QuickBooks to easily categorize revenue and expenditures. Getting all this fully functional and entering all previous information from 2025 was a slow process, but proved helpful for drafting the 2026 budget. Our Town of Day cemetery had proven to be an interesting challenge as we learn more about it’s history. We want to ensure we are in full compliance with the state and make sure the burial process is as easy as possible for families who are grieving.

There is a lot of history located in the office with a lot of organization being needed. This will also be a long, slow process that in the end will make town business more efficient. We want to be able to locate information in an timely manner, whether to respond to a resident or to file reports.

While we didn’t have any elections this Fall, there will be four statewide elections in 2026.

February 17, 2026: Spring primary

April 7, 2026: Spring General Election

August 11, 2026: Primary

November 3, 2026: General election
