Town of Day Recycle Center

Just a brief update on the Town of Day Recycle Center, I wanted explain a few things for those that have been asking.

Fees that are charged are to cover the expense of the waste and recycle pick up, the fees that are being charged by the Town of Day is just covering the cost of those weekly pick ups. The cost continues to increase to the garbage haulers, due to increased regulations and fees. The Town at times, does not collect enough fees for the month to cover the month charge, we do get government grants to help us keep the cost lower but these grants are not guarenteed, but will continue to apply for assistance.

Secondly, I have been hearing that some local residents are not sorting the recyclable items from their trash and or just throwing their garbage into the recyclable bin. Please place items into there appropriate bins, as the Town can be fined for having incorrect materials in the bin.

If you happen to be at the Recycle Center and see someone placing items in an incorrect bin please advise them which bin it should be placed in, or if you are uncertain please ask the attendant.
